Bible
BI 101 Introduction to Bible Study
This subject focuses on what a believer needs in order to grow spiritually. The topics covered are (1) Prayer, (2) Biblical authority and the doctrine of the Scriptures, (3) Basic inductive Bible study and word studies. The book of Titus is studied as an example of doing an inductive Bible study of a whole book.
(4) The doctrine of angels, Satan and temptation. The book of Job is studied as an example of the victory of a saint of old who was attacked and tempted by Satan.
BI 102 Old Testament Law, History, and Poetry
This subject studies each book of the Law, History, and Poetry in the Old Testament with the purpose of giving the student a comprehension of the Old Testament as a whole. The student is required to read each book while receiving outlines and expositions given by the teacher.
BI 103 Old Testament Prophets
This subject studies each book fo the Major and Minor Prophets of the Old Testament with special attention given to the premillennial interpretation of the Old Testament Prophets.
BI 104 New Testament Survey
The subject gives a panoramic view of the New Testament. Aims include the mastery of topics of content for each book, as well as their key chapters. Background information is given as to authorship, and the historical and cultural background of each book. This includes a knowledge of the time line of biblical history, and how each book fits into it.
BI 203 Biblical Interpretation
This subject is designed to give the student a comprehensive method of producing a sound interpretation and explanation of the Scriptures, to enable the development of Biblical messages based upon a proper interpretation of the sacred text, and to apply what has been learned into today's world.
BI 301 Bible Geography and Customs
This subject gives a survey of Bible background material related to the times, customs and geography of Palestine.
BI 401 Genesis
This subject carefully analyses the ‘Book of Beginnings’. God’s plan is studied in detail with reference to Creation, the Flood, and the nations. The outworking of God's history of redemption for the nations is traced through a biographical study of the four Hebrew patriarchs.
BI 402 The Book of Daniel
This subject gives an expository treatment of this major apocalyptic book of the Bible, emphasising historical, doctrinal, and eschatological elements. The book is approached from a premillennial standpoint showing how it supplements other apocalyptic books and how it contributes to the total field of eschatology.
BI 403 The Gospel of Matthew
Careful analysis of the book in light of its use of many Old Testament prophecies of Israel’s Messiah and His Kingdom; how Matthew presents Jesus Christ as the literal fulfilment of those prophecies.
BI 404 The Book of Acts
This subject gives a detailed analysis of the book, with emphasis given to the Holy Spirit and to the establishment and development of the Church. Problem passages are given special consideration. Application is made to present-day church polity and missionary endeavor.
BI 405 The Book of Romans
This subject gives a detailed analysis with special attention directed to its doctrinal and practical values for the believer. Chapters 1-8 are viewed as “doctrinal,” chapters 9-11 as “dispensational,” chapters 12-16 as “duty.”
BI 406 The Corinthian Epistles
This subject gives a detailed analysis of the Corinthian Epistles and their practical value to church polity.
BI 407 Pastoral Epistles
This subject is designed to be a verse-by-verse study of the New Testament Epistles of 1 and 2 Timothy and Titus, the Pastoral Epistles.
BI 408 The Epistle of Hebrews
This subject gives an expository treatment of this book. The focus of the study is to see the Christological and Soteriological teaching of the book especially as it focuses on the superiority of the priesthood of Christ and salvation.
BI 409 The Prison Epistles
A study of the New Testament epistles known as the Prison Epistles: Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians and Philemon along with the authorship, date, and historical context of each Epistle. Content and theme of the Epistles analyzed in detail.
BI 410 The Book of Revelation
A practical exposition of the book Revelation. Presentation of the prophetic Scriptures and the person of Jesus Christ with doctrinal and eschatological features emphasized.
BI 411 The Book of Proverbs
This subject gives a detailed analysis of the book with emphasis on the first nine chapters. Proverbs is the book of ethics and practical wisdom in multiple aspects of everyday life including work, family relationships, economic principles and guidance for civil areas of life. Many of these topics are also discussed.
Church History
CH 401 Church History
The student briefly studies the great movements in Christendom since the death of the Apostles with an emphasis on the historical origins of the Baptist movement and the practical necessity of the Baptist distinctives.
CH 402 A History of Baptist Faith and Practice
This subject studies the development of Baptist churches as related to their beginnings and backgrounds, with a correlation of the New Testament teaching on the administration and government of the churches.
Developmental Ministries
DM 401 Teaching Methods
This subject is designed to give a basic overview of the techniques and principles of teaching used at various age levels including lesson planning, preparation, and presentation to these age levels.
DM 402 Camp, HBC and Youth
This subject is designed to prepare the student to minister effectively in camps, Holiday Bible Clubs and youth ministries.
DM 403 Children's Ministries
This course encompasses all aspects of leading or directing a kid's ministry in the student's own church. Some of the topics covered: Evaluating the needs of the church, directing various types of kids programs, selecting curriculum, writing lesson plans, drawing together resources to help in planning, etc. (If the student chooses this subject, then LMC 502 or LME 503 cannot be chosen).
Evangelism and Missions
EM 101 Evangelism
This subject focuses on the Biblical principles and methods of witnessing and leading souls to a personal acceptance of Christ as Saviour. Because of the importance of Jesus Christ to the Gospel, the student studies the Doctrine of Christ and the Gospel of Mark.
Prerequisite: BI 102 Introduction to Bible Study
EM 102 Introduction to Missions
This subject is an introduction to the Biblical basis of Christian missions. The subject includes a study of motivation for missions, the missionary call, a brief history of missions, life and work on the mission field, the qualifications and preparation of missionaries, and current opportunities for missionary service.
EM 403 Cultural Anthropology
This subject is a study of the races and cultures of our world. It is designed to provide a better understanding of the world’s peoples by providing more effective tools for inter cultural communications and a mirror in which to see one’s own cultural group more clearly. Key assumptions of the subject are that all human beings were created in the image of God, are fallen but remain the objects of His love, and are the subjects of the Great Commission. Thus, the emphasis is given in ways in which anthropological understanding can serve to better equip the student for Great Commission service within the harvest fields of global cultures.
Languages
LA 401 Greek A
This is an introduction to New Testament Greek. Emphasis is placed on learning the pronunciation, basic morphology, vocabulary, and grammar of the Greek.
LA 402 Greek B
This subject continues the study the fundamentals of inflection and basic syntax of Koine Greek. There is an emphasis placed on the development of a working vocabulary the Greek New Testament.

LA 403 Greek C
The student increases reading ability and understanding of Greek grammar with a goal to using the Greek in personal Bible study.

LA 404 Greek D
The student learns to develop facility in proper exegetical methodology as a tool in the interpretive process without violating biblical principles. The outcome of this subject should help the student:
- to develop an awareness of the importance of knowing the background, issues and contents of the Bible.
- to develop the ability to exegete the text of Scripture, being aware of the variety of its literary forms.
- to help the student think through the implications of their exegetical studies for exposition in ministry.
Ladies Ministries Core Subjects
LMC 501 Personal and Home Management
Covers all aspects of managing the home from goal-setting, time management, financial management, hospitality, organization, etc. Students complete a small project in each of the areas studied as suits their own personal needs. Two texts, more devotional in nature, and outside readings are required.
LMC 502 Child Development
Every stage of development from birth to teenage years is covered. The basic text for this class is Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Tedd Tripp. Much Scripture is incorporated and application of Scriptural principles to specific family is encouraged. More reading than project oriented though projects are chosen to suit the interests and needs of the student's family. (Note: the student has a choice of either LMC 502 or LMC 503. If this subject is chosen then LME 501 cannot be chosen).
LMC 503 Childrens Ministries
This course encompasses all aspects of leading or directing a kid's ministry in the student's own church. If this subject is chosen, then LMC 503 or DM 403 cannot be chosen.)
LM 503 Basic Sewing
This subject covers all aspects of using patterns, more details on your machine, sewing for yourself and your family. Very project oriented, more thorough in presentation of all sewing aspects than Sewing for the Home. Access to Machine required.
LME 504 Sewing for the Home
The focus of this subject will be learning how to use basic sewing skills to make items for the home: bed coverings, table linens, curtains and drapes, etc. Students will select items that need to be made for their own homes. How to plan, measure and purchase fabric will also be covered. Basic sewing skills and your own machine are essential items.
LME 505 Meal Management and Nutrition for the Family
Course encompasses current nutrition trends as applied to her own family in her own cultural style of cooking, evaluation of current diets, planning meals to meet nutrition of the family, simplifying work techniques, current safety and sanitation rules, changing recipes to meet nutritional/dietary needs, etc. Basic text for the course is Nutrition for Life by Australian nutritionist Catherine Saxelby.
LME 506 Home Furnishings, Hospitality and Interior Decoration
This subject covers the importance of the home in ministering to others as well as the application of basic interior decoration principles, history of Australian housing and furniture styles, basic floor plan drawing, furniture arrangement, accessories and getting the most for your money. Students do one large and several small projects according to need.
Pastoral and Church-Focused Ministries
PC 201 Homiletics (Men)
The student learns the proper methodology in preparing messages from the Bible and effectively communicating them.
PC 202 Public Speaking (Women)
The focus is on developing a biblical understanding of the ministry of preaching and teaching the Bible, on developing effective skills in proclaiming God’s Word, on effectively teaching different age levels; including lesson planning, preparation, and presentation to these age levels.
PC 302 Pastoral Theology (Men)
Instruction, observation and supervision in areas of role-based functions in the ministry, including: conduct of services, pastoral care, conducting weddings and funerals and church administration.
PC 303 Christian Leader's Wife (women)
The unique pressures and opportunities of the wife of a Christian leader are explored.
PC 401 Church Administration
This subject studies the needs and phases of growing congregations and developing a solid plan for developing a thriving church. This subject covers such things as property upkeep, ministry objectives, human resources and disciplining new converts.
Philosophy and Ethics
PE 101 Christian Experience
This subject focuses on the believer's relationship with God and one’s relationships as to self, to moral purity, to one’s family, to other believers in the church and the world. In addition, stress is given to the stewardship of the abilities given to each believer by God. As the student gains an understanding of God and His ways mature growth will be a result.

PE 401 Apologetics
This subject surveys the major fields of apologetics with the purpose of equipping the students to better defend their faith, present truth, and give honest answers to honest questions for evangelism and edification.
PE 402 Christian Philosophy
This subject acquaints the student with the history, terminology, and basic problems of philosophy. Solutions of the leading philosophical systems are considered and evaluated in the light of a Christian view of God and the World. Contemporary problems will be traced to their philosophical and theological origins.
Theology
TH 201 Bible Doctrine A
This subject is a systematic study of the great teachings of the Bible. It includes the exposition of the doctrines of the Scriptures, the Person of God the Father, and the Person and work of Christ. Students write and defend their doctrinal statement over the theological topics covered in this subject.
TH 202 Bible Doctrine B
This subject is a systematic study of the great teachings of the Bible including the exposition of the person and ministry of the Holy Spirit; the origin, nature, and destiny of angels and Satan; and the origin, nature, and destiny of man.
TH 301 Bible Doctrine C
This subject is a systematic study of the Bible’s teaching concerning sin and the study of the various facets of salvation. Students write and defend their doctrinal statement over the theological topics covered in this subject. TH 302 Bible Doctrine D
This subject is a systematic study regarding the church as God’s unique undertaking in this dispensation and a presentation of the Baptist distinctives. A careful study is also made of the panorama of prophetic events. Students write and defend their doctrinal statement over the theological topics covered in this subject.
TH 401 Doctrine Survey
This subject gives an overview of all the major doctrines in the Bible. This subject is designed as a basic introduction to the study of each of the Bible’s various doctrines, their relationship to each other, and their practical value in the life of the believer today.
